Rouge du Roy®
Prestigious Marble from Caunes-Minervois

The Red Marbles of Caunes-Minervois
In the heart of Occitanie, in the charming village of Caunes-Minervois, Yelmini owns the Rouge du Roy® quarry, which produces a marble that, among other things, adorned the fireplaces of Versailles, thus inscribing this stone in the history of French heritage.
The Rouge du Roy® quarry contains two varieties of marble distinguished by their color and veining: Rouge Griotte® and Rouge Louis XIV®.
Rouge Griotte®
This marble, of an intense red dotted with golden veins and white spots nicknamed “partridge eyes”, owes its name to the griotte cherry, whose vivid and distinctive color it shares.
Rouge Louis XIV®
Rouge Louis XIV® is distinguished by a darker shade and a more pronounced texture, renowned for its use in royal and prestigious projects. This historic marble embodies French luxury and continues to seduce architects and designers from around the world.
Two marbles, one heritage
The Rouge du Roy® quarry therefore houses these two remarkable marbles which, despite their differences, share the same nobility and the same prestigious history. Rouge Griotte® offers luminosity and contrast, while Rouge Louis XIV® imposes power and character.
